Myofascial release and massage for pain and stress in Edinburgh
“Thanks so much Jo, can’t thank you enough for opening my eyes to what massage is capable of!”
R.
If you’re in pain, tense or stressed, it can be hard to fully enjoy the things that matter to you most.
I can help you restore or maintain ease in your body with gentle but effective treatments to reduce pain, support easeful movement, and calm the nervous system, without using painful pressure.
This can be particularly welcome if you are affected by chronic pain or exhaustion conditions including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), ME or long COVID.
The slow, listening myofascial techniques I use rely on presence, meditative listening touch, slow pacing and precision rather than deep pressure. Although gentle, the work feels deep and satisfying, and you can often feel your muscles flow and let go during the treatment itself.

Testimonials
Jo is an amazing massage therapist and a lovely, warm person – she made me feel so at ease during our first session. I have issues with chronic pain and fatigue and she was so careful and attentive, making sure that I was totally comfortable with what she was doing. Jo uses a technique called myofascial release and it honestly felt magical – as she was massaging my back I could feel tingling running down my legs, like an energy release. It felt really good and totally different from the sorts of troublesome sensations I usually experience. I felt a lot lighter after the session, like something had shifted for the better and like I could move a bit more easily. I’m excited to see if this feeling continues and will definitely be booking in for future sessions. Thanks so much Jo, can’t thank you enough for opening my eyes to what massage is capable of! 🙂

I have had several massages from Jo over the years. I cannot recommend her highly enough. A very considered and compassionate massage therapist. Most recent massage was today, focusing on head and back. Feel amazing! I have got a degree of energy back that I haven’t had for a while.

Such a great massage with Jo. My back and neck are feeling stretched and loose after a stressful few weeks and the knots have melted away. Looking forward to my next visit.
